The 'Cure' for Homosexuality? w/poll

Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 10:48:03 AM PDT

I know the Freerepublic is not something rational human beings should ever come in contact with, but this was recently brought to my attention by a friend--who in all fairness warned me to sit down before I read it and maybe even pop a tranquilzer beforehand. I wish I'd taken his advice. We all know the crack-pottery of the right and how hypocrisy more often than not dove tails quite nicely with their outlook on reality, but this is beyond the pale! For a group so hell bent against stem cell research and abortion, there was actually one jackass who apparently sees no distinction between himself and Dr. Josef Mengele.

OMG! Right Wing Whackos Are Praying to Rain Out Obama's Acceptance Speech

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 10:26:32 AM PDT

I kid you not. This comes from a loon site called CitizenLink. The reason for the speaker wanting people to pray to wash out Obama's moment? You guessed it, because the speaker Stuart Shepard is "pro-life" and "pro traditional marriage." (Never mind that people can no longer afford kids or to get married in the economy these pro-life Republicans have destroyed over the past 8 years. Could these people be anymore pathetic? Honestly!

Obama said what FINALLY needed to be said!

Sat Apr 12, 2008 at 01:12:09 AM PDT

You have Hillary and McCain trying to play politics as usual and addressing non-issues like those that actually cause a supposedly 'enlightened' people to vote for the likes of right wing shills like George W. Bush and John McCain. Unless McCain nominates an idiot like Mitt Romney, you will probably see him as the next President of the United States. Why? Because Hillary is not offering enough of an argument to actually make you believe that she--a polarizing figure already hated in most of the red states--could be a viable candidate for the Presidency in 2008. I have a friend in North Carolina who said to me, "If you don't think any Southerner capable of getting out of his/her deathbed to vote AGAINST Hillary wouldn't, then you're sadly mistaken. We didn't like Bill or his wife then, and we like her even less now!"

Okay, Kos, You Seem To Want Romney In the Race, so How 'bout a Bet?

Sat Jan 12, 2008 at 02:38:08 PM PDT

I don't know if it's the responses you've gotten from Kossacks or the buzz from the likes of Fox, CNN, and ABC, but for some reason, you've apparently decided to give Karl Rove a run for his money in the area of Mayberry's newest Machiavelli! Since seem so cock-sure of gambling with all our futures, why don't you take a more personal stake in this?

DO NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY! You will play right into Rove/BushCo's hands!

Thu Jan 10, 2008 at 06:53:17 PM PDT

I don't care how many times someone's responded along these lines to the original inane post encouraging Democrats to vote for Multiple Mitt Romey, but I wanted to thorw in my two cents for whatever they're worth and appeal to reason here. I don't believe the majority took the post seriously enough, but just seeing as many rocket scientists as I did in the comments section respond with "Brilliant" or "What a great idea Kos," was enough to send a chill down my spine that anyone couldn't see Mitt's now desperate campaign morphing into a kind of political Trogan Horse virus right here on Kos!

Mitt Romney Camp Feverishly Posting on Youtube, to Counter 'Negative' Perceptions of their Candidate

Wed Jan 31, 2007 at 11:22:07 AM PDT

Recently, someone posted a film clip of Mitt Romney's debate with Ted Kennedy, challenging hime for his Senate seat. Romney lost, of course, but decided to remain in the Bay State and pursue a less glamourous job, that of Govnernor of the Commonwealth. Romney painted himself as a pro-choice, pro gay rights moderate Repubublican, in the same veign as the former and very popular GOP governor, Bill 'Pink Floyd' Weld. After winning the office, Beacon Hill would be transformed into Romney's permanent campaign platform, from which he would go from moderate Chancellor Palpatine Romney, to far right Darth Romney!

Is Green Day Being Censored by Touch Tunes?

Sat Dec 02, 2006 at 11:00:17 AM PDT

I was at a local watering hole last night and wanted to play a song I often do by Green Day...the anti right wing, obviously anti Fox News ditty called 'American Idiot' which was one of the most powerful anti-media/thought control songs ever made in the post 911 age. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that or would check it out the next time they were near one of these machines.

Disgraced Hustler Jeff Gannon Dissing Sen. Webb

Wed Nov 29, 2006 at 03:46:47 PM PDT

I could hardly believe my eyes when I came upon this guy's webpage. Not only was is spewing the same right wing idiocy he used to do so freely at the White House Press Corp--before it was discovered he was running a pretty non-family values website and selling more than his opinions, that is.

Hilarious Film on Atheists vs. Visiting Mormons

Mon Nov 27, 2006 at 01:20:27 PM PDT

Have you ever been bothered by elders so-and-so of the Mormon Church? You'll enjoy this short film. Pay particular attention to how not-gracious some of these church folk are to the young men turning the tables on them!

Take a Stand for Gay Equality

Wed Nov 22, 2006 at 09:17:52 AM PDT

Please forgive me if this has been posted already, but it's important and I'll gladly remove it if it has. Our old friend Mitt Romney, who would be worse than George W. Bush ever was on equality for gay and lesbians, is really pulling out all the stops to buck even McCain and Giuliani to become President.

Attack of the Lynne Cheney Groupies Part 3

Tue Nov 21, 2006 at 05:18:21 AM PDT

Recently, I'd purchased a copy of Lynne Cheney's new book "Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Accross the U.S." for a relative and reviewed it on Amazon. I didn't think I was harsh or anything and even liked the art work, but found the story itself a rather vapid tale and knowing who the author was, wasn't surprised. Well, it didn't take long for the right wingers to begin their swfitboating of me.

Follow Up To Lynne Cheney's Book Review--Mad Cons Everywhere

I had posted this a while back after my initial review of Lynne Cheney's book Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America and many of you added your thoughts to the many neo-cons who attacked me for it. Just thought you'd enjoy taking a return over there and see more of the bigotted drool that has been left, attacking the poor, libs, you name it!

IT'S TIME TO GIVE JAMES CARVILLE THE BOOT!

Fri Nov 10, 2006 at 12:20:31 PM PDT

I have, personally, for a long time been completely sick of James Carville. In fact, criticism of this shrill, pompous ninny was the one thing I could always agree with the Republicans about. His hackery reached its zenith while reducing political discourse to its absolute nadir with non-stop pundit gasbaggert with Crossfire, where he shared the podium with fellow blowhards, Tucker Carlson, Paul Begala and Robert :doushebag of Liberty" Novak!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PEOPLE OF PENNSYLVANIA!

Wed Nov 08, 2006 at 09:00:35 AM PDT

Yesterday, the voters of Pennsylvania went to the voting booth and said clearly, loudly and unmistakably that they'd had enough of Rick Santorum and his condescending bigotry, self-righteousness and hypocrisy! Indeed, nationwide yesterday's election was a rejection of Bush, the neo-cons, the Christian right and one party rule in America! It's a victory all moderate, justice loving people can applaud, Democrat, Republican and independant alike! Now is the time to reject the politics of division, fear and hatred and take our nation forward in peace, unity and justice for all, just as our founding fathers had intended and not as Karl Rove perverted.

Ann Coulter Said A Lot Worse Than Kerry Did About Our Troops

Tue Oct 31, 2006 at 03:02:51 PM PDT

Strange how all these troops loving Republicans currently beating up on Kerry didn't seem bat an eyelash when Ann "I-Stand-up-to-Pee" Coulter said the following:

"Soldiers are just cowards with their backs against the wall. The lowest IQ men in our society, those incapable of normal careers enlist. Their choice in life; prison or the military. Some will have to die in the support of our cause."

Reichen Lehmkuhl's New Book About Air Force Academy Abuse Sure to Raise Wingnut Hackles

Tue Oct 24, 2006 at 08:59:17 PM PDT

Gay "Amazing Race" winner and superstar model Reichen Lehmkuhl's new book, "Here's What We'll Say: Growing Up, Coming Out, and the U.S. Air Force Academy" reveals a behind the scenes look at what life at one of America's prestigious military academies is like for a gay service member. Of course any expose' about the heavily evangelized Air Force Academy is sure to raise wingnut ire and their already on Amazon, having never read the book, preaching their religious claptrap and dismissing Lehmkuhl as an opportunistic, queer "pretty boy" just out to make a buck.
